The Business Design with Human Design Series Continues. Over the past week or so, I have been sharing knowledge, considerations, and challenges each of the six Lines in human design may experience as they build out their business ecosystem, congruent with their human design. Did you know that one of the biggest challenges my clients faced who came into my business programs was that they thought they were honoring their human design? Only to realize 4 months into doing the work with me, they were thinking their way through it. They thought they were experiencing their sacral response. They thought they had recognition. They thought they were building a cave ecosystem. They thought they were leading with their primary center. The problem is they THOUGHT. They relied on their mind to make their decision. They were thinking their way through it instead of dancing with their design. They were making decisions from the shoulds, the ought to, and industry standards. They were caught in old beliefs sold by gurus around what a business is supposed to look like. They were doing what they were supposed to do, and it left them burnt out, frustrated, overwhelmed, exhausted, and angry. It’s not their fault, and here’s why:
Here’s the thing…it is not enough to know your design, especially when it comes to building a business at the intersection of your design, desires, and lifestyle. You have to actually integrate it, live it, practice it, and embody it as you move through life and biz. You have to learn to tune back into the body’s wisdom, instinct, intuition, or knowing (whatever language you’d like to use) You have to throw out the rules on how it is supposed to be done and question, “Who says it is supposed to be that way?” You must actually do the work so that you can change the trajectory of your life & biz. You must navigate your way back to who you were before the world told you who you should be. You must shed the collective bullshit that sells you on this is THE way. One of my favorite metaphors to use on the transformative process of deconditioning is the Rabbi’s story of the Lobster. A lobster must become so uncomfortable in its hard shell that it sheds it. During this time that the lobster shed its shell, it is soft, vulnerable, susceptible to the threats of the outside world, and it is in this time that it goes into hiding. To grow a new shell, one with more room to grow and expand. This is much like the process of deconditioning and building a life and biz at the intersection of your design, desires, and lifestyle. You must get uncomfortable. You must shed the false beliefs. You must let go of the narratives that are no longer serving. You must do the work and re-establish your world and business ecosystem. All in pursuit of the space to expand, to live a full life built around the Whole of who you are. In order to do this, you must stop treating the symptoms in your business and rebuild the foundation. You must get to the root of the problem. You are shrinking yourself to fit into your business, whether that be your business models, offer suite, or ecosystem. You are throwing offers at the wall, hoping something sticks. But this is not how to create, cultivate, and build a regenerative business ecosystem congruent to your design. And here’s the thing, it’s not your fault. The industry has failed you, and this is the same industry that is on the brink of extinction because of its homogenized approach. It’s time to transform. It’s time to get to the root. It’s time to evolve. There is never a perfect time to do this work, and there is no better time than now.
