Business Isn’t Shifting. It HAS Shifted.Business isn’t shifting. It HAS shifted. Yesterday, during one of my calls, I was asked, ‘How can I adapt my offer to the changing marketplace?’ I believe we have to understand the context of how we got here. We are moving from the Age of Information, where knowledge is readily available at our fingertips, with AI making it easier than ever to “sort” or organize that knowledge. While there is no firm consensus about the age we are moving into, some say the age of Artificial Intelligence, others saythe Age of Reckoning, or the Age of Experience. I believe we are moving into a time where individualization, experience, synthesis, critical thinking, and mastery become the key differentiators. I believe this will be the Age of Mastery. While it is great to have more knowledge than ever at our fingertips, we must also keep in mind that AI tools like Chat are trained by the information available on the internet, not all available information, so I believe there is a belief that the collective has access to enough knowledge. So when you are selling a knowledge-based course like launching, human design, marketing, trauma, or really anything that is solely knowledge-based, there is a lot to overcome in the mind of the consumer, since there is so much knowledge available. So when we consider adapting our offers to the changing marketplace, we have to keep in mind. 1 – Knowledge alone is not enough – You have to combat the belief that the knowledge you are offering is differentiatedfrom what is largely available. You have to convey to the potential client that there is a depth, nuance, and synthesis not available at their fingertips, and if you are offering human design like me, much of the really juicy human design knowledge isn’t actually available on the internet. The Takeway – Name how your knowledge is differentiated vs what is traditionally available back this up with testimonials, real-world examples, and a behind-the-scenes look at your strategy and synthesis. 2 – Transformation, Evolution, and Growth is key – We have come to the precipice that knowing is not enough anymore, and you can see evidence of this everywhere. Take human design, for example, it is not enough to know your design, you have to actually practice and embody it. You must reckon with, tend to, and let go of what is not yours. You must grow through the process. You must lean in, do the work, and transform. No amount of knowledge is a substitute for another human holding space for you. Another human naming, noticing, supporting, guiding, and asking questions so that you can grow, evolve, and transform. The Takeaway – Your offer needs to name how you hold space, the transformation, evolution, and growth that your potential clients can experience when they enter into your world. What work will they have to do in order to experience this transformation? Set expectations, be clear, and offer up hope for a new, vibrant future on the other side of the journey. 3 – Experience that leads to mastery – Gone are the days when you can be one step ahead of your ideal client. You must actually do the work, get on the playing field, and forge yourself into the fire to gain experience. Experience in understanding how the parts of the person in front of you and their experiences impact the whole of who they are. The experience of being able to support wildly different clients in getting similar outcomes. This comes through repetition, through practice, and through doing the work intimately with others. The Takeaway – Your offer needs to showcase that you have the experience, that this isn’t your first rodeo, and that your client can trust you to hold space regardless of their situation. Many potential clients have been burned by coaches who lack experience or take a homogenized approach. You need to speak to your experience, space holding, and individualization. 4 – Nervous System Regulation as a Space Holder is My Top Priority – As the person who is holding space and delivering the end product to clients, you must take responsibility for the energy that you bring to your experience. You can no longer show up dysregulated, incongruent, hypo- or hyper-activated. You owe it to yourself and your clients to show up in a congruent, regulated, neutral state so that you can fully support them on their journey. This allows you to go into the fire with them and support them in change, evolution, and growth, which is often challenging. The Takeaway – Your offer needs you to show up in the highest, thriving, regulated expression of yourself. While, of course, there is no such thing as perfect, you have a duty and a responsibility to the industry to show up regulated, neutral, and congruent. This may mean and include clear boundaries around your offer, your support, and your communication. Your energy and aura speak for you; be sure they are communicating the energy you want to convey. — So when you are considering integrating these elements into your offer and shifting into the new era of business, I invite you to consider,
