Resonance Vs. Resistance

As I’ve been working with clients to map out their 2026, I’ve been thinking a lot about people’s journeys and my own journey.

I am of the belief that we either create resonance or resistance for ourselves, depending upon the choices that we make – some of which we are conscious of and others that we are not.

In HD terms, that means – are we congruent to who we are – resonance or not – resistance. Do we honor the timing of our lives? Yes – resonance. No – Resistant.

However, there is a caveat here because by design, some of us are here to face more resistance than others. Some of us, by design, are more resilient.

Here to challenge the status quo and swim against the current.

Does that mean those of us with resilient energy are here to face resistance all our lives? It does not.

However, it does mean that some of us are better equipped to face the current challenges of our world.

Some of us are better equipped to move from resistance to resonance.

Regardless of the energy we have in our charts…there is always hope.

There is always a way through.

Our job is to become as resonant as possible.

First, let me share how I define these words:

Resonance is the state of being that vibrates so high that, as a result, it causes other people, objects, & places to also vibrate at a higher state of being.

Resistance is the state of being where opposition, or withstanding, or withholding is present, which creates more turbulence on the journey.

Our world is changing. Business is changing.

We as a collective are changing.

We need more humans who are cultivating resonance and leaving behind resistance.

I often witness people on their journeys in a state of resistance. Literally fighting the work they are here to do and who they truly are. They resist growing through the process on the path to resonance. Instead, they trend hop, they jump from thing to thing, avoiding the work and therefore creating more resistance in their life. They avoid in an effort to get a quick win. But the reality is this prolongs the journey. This creates more and more resistance over time on the journey and only further delays getting to a state where resonance is present.

In business (& life), resonance is magnetic, but it often takes a level of resilience to get to this state. A willingness to endure and reckon with that which is not ours. The baggage that those before us have asked us to carry.

I shared yesterday in my 2026 planning session with a group that I know I am here to be the Cycle Breaker for my family. Here to end the generational trauma that has been passed down for generations. I bear the burden and responsibility of being the black sheep. Here to end the resistance that my family has faced and create resonance.

I am here to change the trajectory for future generations – for my two children and for everyone who comes after me.

And it dawned on me that perhaps if you are in my world, you feel that you are also a cycle breaker.

A person willing to get gritty and resilient and move from a state of resistance to one of resonance.

While this journey is not for everyone, I know that many of us are being called to create a new collective.

I am one of those people, and this is a huge part of the WHY behind me doing this work…

Yet, I know I cannot do it alone.

I am being called to make an impact, and my vision is big.

Yet I know I cannot do it alone.

The journey from resistance to resilience to resonance is not an easy path.

It asks us to face parts of ourselves that we wish would stay hidden.

It requires us to take radical responsibility.

It breaks us so we can rise from the ashes anew.

It challenges our beliefs.

It tests our commitment.

I know because I’ve walked this journey these last few years.

And I’ve been afraid.

Afraid to share it. Afraid of the judgment.

Afraid to own what I’ve been creating.

Wondering if I’m worthy.

Questioning if I’m capable.

Creating my own resistance.

Making my journey harder because I’m resisting what I know my soul is here to do.

I am rising up from the ashes of my resistance over these past few years.

Stepping forward to lead, to birth my synthesis and create my vision.

To fully spread my wings instead of being afraid to fly.

I implore you, if you are reading this today, we must stop creating our own suffering and resistance.

I’ve been there, and it is not a happy place to live.

Our world needs more people who create resonance.

Resonance lifts us all up.

And our world needs more resonance…

That might mean

Doing the work that we are here to do.
Owning our leadership.
Writing the book or doing the thing we have always wanted to do
Creating the space
Writing a permission slip for ourselves.
Letting go or having the hard conversation….
Reckoning with our shoulds and beliefs.
Owning your power
Facing that scary thing you know in your heart is for you.

I know if you are in my world…you are a change maker, cycle breaker, leader, or creator of the new collective.

I know you are here to make an impact, leave a legacy, and change the trajectory of those who are in your ecosystem.

And I invite you to put down the resistance, get resilient, and create resonance.

The world needs your work, your impact, your vibe, your brilliance, and your resonance.
