From Knowledge to Embodiment: The Missing Piece in Your Human Design Journey
Today, I want to address what I see as the biggest gap in how people approach Human Design, especially when building a business: the difference between knowing your design and actually living it.
The Knowledge Trap
Here’s what I see happening constantly: People come to Human Design for business work and they know their design from a headspace perspective.
They know:
- “I’m a 4/6 Projector”
- “I need an invitation and recognition”
- “I’m a Generator – I need to respond”
- “80% certainty is a yes for my emotional authority”
But here’s the problem: This is all still coming from the mind.
When you think “I have 80% certainty, I’m at emotional neutral” – that’s not how it actually works when you’re embodying your design. When you think “I have an invitation, great, now I can give advice” – that’s still mental processing, not embodied knowing.
What Embodiment Actually Looks Like
When you truly live in your body and become one with your design, you don’t have to think:
- “Do I have an invitation?”
- “Do I have the felt sense of emotional neutrality?”
- “Am I at 80% certainty?”
You can actually feel it in your physical body.
Let me share my own journey with this.
My Emotional Authority Evolution
When Human Design found me on Instagram, I discovered I was a 3/5 Projector with emotional authority. I learned that “if you’re at 80%, that’s a yes or a no.”
At that time, I knew with 80% certainty I didn’t want to keep doing my marketing agency. But I kept waiting to get to 100% certainty – which was never going to come.
Understanding that framework was incredibly helpful at the beginning. That validation was powerful. It helped me make the decision to leave my agency.
But here’s what I know now, years into my deconditioning journey:
I cannot even remember the last time I said to myself, “I have 80% certainty, therefore this is a yes or no.”
Instead, I know the felt sense of emotional neutrality in my body. I have a trusting relationship with my body where I know:
- What a “yes” feels like in my body
- What a “no” feels like in my body
- What recognition feels like
- What being projected on feels like
I don’t need to be in my mind analyzing “oh, there’s a negative projection.” I can feel it.
That’s the difference between knowing your design and integrating, embodying, and becoming your design.
Living Design in Real Time: My Family Example
I see this every day in my household. We live and breathe Human Design, not as a concept, but as an embodied practice.
My Manifester Son:
My oldest son, Z, is a Manifester. His energy can be pokey, sometimes catalytic, even a little triggering – not in a negative way, but in that way where I can feel his Manifester energy calling me into something new.
I don’t need to think “Oh, you’re a Manifester. You’re initiating.” I just embrace it and ask: “What are you seeing that I don’t see?”
My 4/1 Son:
Every morning, because we integrate Human Design in our household, I know: here’s the 4/1 kid who needs information.
“Here’s the 411 you need to know about today. You keep me informed, I keep you informed.” It works symbiotically, without needing to reference his chart every time.
My 2/4 Quad-Split Son:
I know my other child is a 2/4 quad-split. Right now there’s a transit that’s affecting him, and I know his feelings and emotions are really big.
I don’t need to go “oh, you’re transit X, Y, Z.” I know I need to hold space. I can feel it. I don’t even need to look it up.
The Messy Middle: Getting From Head to Body
Here’s what nobody tells you: Moving from knowledge to embodiment is sloppy at first.
I remember making that shift from asking myself “Do I have 80% certainty?” to trusting the emotional neutrality in my body.
It was hard. I made mistakes.
But once I got through that stormy period and came out on the other side, I had an entirely different relationship with my body. I could move with so much more ease, so much more resonance. I didn’t hit as much resistance.
It’s the same with any part of our design.
My Manifester son is learning to initiate authentically. Over the past few months, I’ve watched him really step into “I’m going to initiate at basketball.” He’s crushing it. He’s had to navigate some challenging dynamics with his teammates. But on the other side, he’s emerged as this confident, strong kid who’s leading – not the biggest kid on the team, but fast, coachable, and unafraid to initiate.
The Challenge: Moving Beyond Conditioning
Here’s the thing about us adults: We’re conditioned.
My children don’t necessarily need me to tell them to “do their design.” But we adults? We’ve been conditioned for decades to operate in ways that don’t align with who we actually are.
When it comes to building a business at the intersection of your design, desires, and lifestyle, one of the biggest challenges I see is this:
People believe they should build a business in X way.
“I’ve got to do a course.”
“I’ve got to do a mastermind.”
“I’ve got to do [insert homogenized thing here].”
They spend six months building that out, and they’re still shrinking their Human Design to fit into that business model.
Your 2026 Invitation
As we step into this year, I’m inviting you to pick one part of your design and commit to moving from knowledge into integration and embodiment.
I would look at either your Strategy, your Authority, or your Type – these are foundational pieces of your chart.
Pick one and ask yourself:
“How can I move from knowing this intellectually to feeling it in my body? How can I trust it a little bit more?”
Get out of the mind. Get into the body. Watch how resonance unfolds for you.
Because here’s what happens when you do this work:
You stop using excuses. You stop “shoulding” yourself. You get out of perfectionism. You embrace yourself. You step into your power. You take up space. You aren’t afraid to pursue the thing inside of you. You give yourself permission to do the work your future self will thank you for.
The Practice Space
This is my mission: To support more people in truly embodying their design in business so they can build businesses where they don’t have to shrink.
Because when you’re building from embodied alignment – not from what you think you “should” do – everything changes.
The integration, the embodiment, the practice of your design? That’s where the magic happens. That’s where growth happens. That’s where change happens.
And yes, you’ll mess up along the way. It will be sloppy. It will be hard.
But the moment you come out on the other side, you’ll have a relationship with your body and your design that allows you to move with ease and resonance.

And it’s really about building that business that you don’t need to shrink yourself down for. And this year, as I have offered in past years, but this year I’m really doubling down on supporting you in business and life alignment. And today I’m going to give you a behind the scenes look at our first teaching invitation of the year. In this experience, the Catalyst experience, I’m really encouraging people to move out of the knowledge of business and move out of the knowledge of human design into integration and embodiment of their designs.
(01:45):
And today, I am giving examples of what it actually means to move from the knowledge, the integration, and embodiment of your design. And so I hope you enjoy this. If you want to dig deeper and get support in HD your biz, in building a business at that intersection of your design, your desires and lifestyle, I invite you to join me either in the Catalyst experience, the Life and Business Alignment membership. We have a lot of really exciting things that are coming to that offering this year or order a catalyst report. You can do both of those things at human design your business.com. But without further ado, I hope you enjoy this episode and we’ll see you on the next one. Have a fantastic day.
(02:58):
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the HDU Biz Catalyst Experience Podcast. This is our very first correspondence of 2026. I am very, very excited to be with you and hold space for you on your journey of building a business at the intersection of your design desires and lifestyle. So I want to start the year by offering you an invitation. So yesterday I launched the Ecocentric Human Design podcast, and I share this because it’s a great example. I had an aha yesterday as I was, well, the other day when I was recording it, I didn’t record it yesterday. Anyway, I had an aha when I was recording the podcast, the very first podcast. And one of the things that you’re going to hear me talk a lot about this year, especially when it comes to embodying your human design, is the felt sense of your design in your body. I think that one of the biggest challenges that I see a lot of people face when they come to do this human design for business work is that they know their design. They know it from a Headspace perspective.
(04:47):
So they know, oh, I’m a four six, I’m a three five, I’m a projector. I need an invitation. I need recognition. I need to respond. I know that 80% certainty is a yes if I have emotional authority, but the problem is that is still a coming from a place of knowing. It’s still coming from the mind. Oh, I have 80% certainty. I’m at emotional neutral. That’s not necessarily how it works. I have an invitation. Great. Now I can provide advice. I have something to respond to. The thing is, when we truly live in body and become our designs, when we’re one with our design, we don’t necessarily even have to think about, do I have an invitation? Do I have the felt sense of emotion? Am I at 80% certainty that this is the right or wrong thing for me? We can actually feel it in our physical bodies.
(06:10):
And so when we are talking about our human design, when we are living our human design, when we’re trying to make decisions in our business, we have to remember that our mind is not here for us. Our mind is here to support the other, but the rest of ourselves. That’s for us, and I’ll use the emotional authority as an example. And this is really, if we think about the deconditioning journey, when we think about the deconditioning journey, these are the things that we have to at some point take a leap of faith on. I remember when human design found me on Instagram, and I looked up my design and I found out I was a three five projector and I had emotional authority. And that emotional authority meant that if you’re at 80%, 80% is a yes or a no. And at that time, I was like, oh my God.
(07:19):
I knew 80% certainty I didn’t want to keep doing my agency, but I kept waiting to get to a hundred percent certainty. But we have to understand that that is still coming from my mind. So if I am like, oh, I’m at 80% certainty, that’s not necessarily emotional neutral. Now, I don’t want to dismiss the fact that it was so helpful to me when I first started and stepped onto the human design journey to have that validation and to have that kind of as a framework for decision-making. And that was really, really powerful for me. And the deeper I go on this journey and building my own business around my human design and living my design and supporting my children with their human design, one of the things that I keep coming back to again and again and again is at some point we have to take this leap from the mind and back into the body and learn to trust the body again.
(08:38):
I cannot even remember the last time that I said to myself, oh, I have 80% certainty. Therefore, that answer is a yes or no to me. I know the felt sense of emotional neutral in my body. I have this trusting relationship with my body where I know the feeling, what it feels like in my body to have a yes, what it feels like in my body to have a no, what it feels like in my body to have recognition from somebody else, what it feels like to be projected on. I don’t need to be in the mind and go, oh, there’s a negative projection. I can feel it. And that’s the difference between knowing your design and integrating, embodying and becoming your design.
(09:48):
I’ll give you another example. My son is my oldest son, Z is a manifester. He comes in and it’s pokey sometimes and he’ll come in and it’ll be a little catalytic. It can be at times a little triggering and not in a negative way. It’s just, it’s like, Ooh, I can feel his manifester energy calling me into something new, and I know I don’t need to go, oh, you’re a manifester. You’re initiating. I just embrace it. And I’m like, so I’ll even ask. So what are you seeing that I don’t see? Conversely, I know every day, because we live and embody and integrate human design in my household, every morning I get up and I’m like, here’s the 4 1 1 kid. Here’s the info you need to know about today. You keep me informed, I keep you informed, and that works symbiotically. Conversely, I know my other child, he’s a two four quad split, and I know that right now we have a transit that’s a lot, and I know he’s going to come no matter what time of day it is.
(11:15):
His feelings and emotions are really big right now, and I don’t need to go, oh, you’re transit X, Y, z. I know that I got to hold that space. I can feel it. I don’t even need to look it up. And at some point, each of us, in our human design journey, especially if we’re doing human design for business work, we have to move from the knowledge of knowing our design to the integration and embodying it and living and practicing it, because that is where the magic happens. That’s where growth happens. That’s where change happens. That’s where we stop using excuses, where we stop shooting ourselves, where we get out of perfection, where we embrace ourselves, where we step into our power, where we take up space where we aren’t afraid to pursue the thing inside of us, where we give ourselves a permission slip to do the work our future selves will thank us for. But the reality is to get to that point, there comes a time where we have to step out of the knowing. We have to step out of the knowing and into the integration and embodiment into the practice of our design, and we mess up. I remember moving out of asking myself, do I have 80% certainty into trusting the emotional neutral in my body? It was sloppy for a little bit. It was hard. I made mistakes.
(13:08):
But the reality is that once I got through kind of that stormy period, when I came out on the other side, I had this entirely different relationship with my body that allowed me to move with so much more ease, so much more resonance, and I didn’t hit as much resistance. It is the same thing with any part of our designs. Like my manifester son, he’s here to initiate, right? He’s here to initiate, truly. And I’ve watched him over the past few months really just be like, I’m going to initiate at basketball, and he’s crushing it, and he’s had to navigate some challenging things with his teammates. But on the other side of that, he’s really come out this confident, strong kid that’s leading and that challenged some of the other players on the team, not the biggest kid, but he’s fast and he’s coachable, and he listens, and he does the work, right?
(14:32):
And he’s not afraid to initiate. And so when we think about that, I don’t necessarily have to tell my children to do their design, but we adults we’re conditioned. So when we think about building our business at the intersection of our design or desires and our lifestyle, I invite you to this year, pick one part of your design. And I would contend, contend that I would look at your style, your authority, or your type. Those are two really fundamental pieces of your chart. I would look at one of those two pieces potentially, and I would go, how can I move from the knowledge of this into the integration and embodiment, even if it’s just a little more? And I would invite you to try that to pick one part of your design and learn to trust it a little bit more. Get out of the mind with it and get into the body and watch how resonance unfolds for you.
(15:55):
That’s my challenge to you as we step into 2026, because when it comes to business and building a business at the intersection of your design, your desires, and your lifestyle, one of the biggest challenges that I see people make again and again and again is that they have a belief that I should build a business in X way. Okay, I got to do a course, I got to do a mastermind. I got to do a insert homogenized thing here. And they spend six months building that out, and they’re still shrinking their human design to fit into that business model.
(16:48):
So I want to invite you to step into just one piece of embodiment in your design, move out of the head, move out of the knowledge, and into the integration and embodiment. And I want to invite you to do that, okay? Because that’s going to create a ripple effect in your business. And I am on a mission to make sure more people can truly embody their design and business so that they can build businesses where they don’t have to shrink. So that is my invitation to you as we step into the catalyst experience in 2026. Okay? So please feel free to share that in the community, what part of your design you’re going to be working on, what you’re going to notice, what you’re going to name, how you’re going to hold space for that, and I will see you on the next podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in, and have a fantastic day.
