The one thing most Entrepreneurs are missing

I started my business when I was 20 and I’ve been in business for nearly 18 years. I’ve seen a lot of success with entrepreneurs along the way, but also a lot of failures. So, today, I’m going to share one of the biggest mistakes I see so many entrepreneurs make at some point in their career, and it’s probably not what you think!

Sticktoitiveness – What is that?

The biggest mistake I see entrepreneurs make is what I like to call sticktoitiveness. This happens at some point in every entrepreneur’s career, and maybe it happens more than once. I know that was the case for me.

Entrepreneurs get a great idea, and they go through all the effort to bring it to life and create it. They put it out there and perhaps they hear crickets or it is only mediocrely successful.

Now, instead of taking what they learned, the data, the process, and all the things that they’ve already done, they hit the reset button and start all over again with another program.

To me, it is a huge problem in the online space. Part of the reason why this is such a problem is that after doing something one time after launching the sales page once you don’t have enough experience to say, yes this works or no it doesn’t.

The one thing most Entrepreneurs are missing pin

Failure to build something

When there’s this lack of sticktoitiveness and every quarter or every six months you’re hitting the reset button in your business, you’re not actually building on anything. You are taking the whiteboard and wiping it clean and starting from scratch again. I’ve seen this over and over again in my nearly 18 years in business.

People will go through the creative course, they’ll launch it, and it will be designed for the specific avatar.

They’ll go through all the effort of

  1. building an audience
  2. writing emails
  3. launching a sales page
  4. creating the content for the course of the membership
  5. launching it

The end result of this process: it goes okay, but instead of tweaking, honing and really developing that and building it into this awesome thing, they hit the reset button. They start all over again, by creating another program for a different avatar, with a different set of emails, with a different set of content, with a different set of learning information.

The problem with that is you’re always starting from scratch. You’re always starting from this place of zero. And it doesn’t just happen with launches. Entrepreneurs who usually struggle with sticktoitiveness, repeat the same pattern with business strategy or social media.

What do you love to do as an entrepreneur?

Think about what is that one thing that you really love to do? Take that thing that lights you up and gets you really excited and stick to it and commit to it for a year.

Remember, hitting the reset button in your business is oftentimes the result of fear, some mindset blocks, or some head trash that you might have. If you take a step back from this and you look at what this looks like from a client’s perspective, there tends to be a lack of integration along the way.

Massage, optimize, and hone it: Become the expert!

I encourage you to integrate it all together. Make a really amazing client experience. Create the delivery emails, make sure you do those special touchpoints where you’re really nurturing and making that customer feel special. When you continue to massage, optimize, hone and become the expert in this particular area, that’s when you’ll start to see progress. Stick with it and learn from the data.

I’m not saying don’t change anything. The whole point of this is to massage, change, adjust, or modify the things that you have going on so that you can create a repeatable business model that you can scale up.
