Online Marketing with Liz Theresa

With traditional marketing, there was a clear line between marketing and the sales process. You couldn’t look at a billboard and buy something, but today, when you look online, it is all mixed together. For entrepreneurs, this can get quite overwhelming pretty quickly.

Liz Theresa is a business mentor, copywriter, and web designer. She’s helped entrepreneurs find clarity and uniquely market themselves with confidence for the past 10 years. She wants every entrepreneur to rise and be the star of their own business.

What are reels?

Reels are 15-second videos that allow you to reach new people and engage with your audience on Instagram. It’s the alternative to TikTok.

Some people do these really, really well… and then some are just cringe! In terms of the trends, it’s entertaining and, ultimately, people come to social media because they want to be entertained. If you are using reels in your business, make sure they are in alignment with your business.

So, if you have the time and the energy to do that and it’s in alignment with your brand, go for it but make sure that your reels:

  1. Tell a story and align with your business
  2. Have intent and a purpose behind them
  3. Have a clear beginning, middle, and end

Showing Up Authentically

According to Liz, when it comes to your posts, it should always be quality over quantity. Do not overpost. Another thing that she notices is that people are not showing up authentically online. Sometimes they go too far, both in aesthetic, but also in their message of only showing the sunny side of business. Posts like “I just had a $30,000 month and I did it in a day” bring up a lot of questions and can be a real turn-off for most people. When you first start your business, you might do things in this way or that way, because that’s what other people tell you to do. When you are at the start of your business, you might not have a really strong brand identity or you’re not hyper clear on who you want to support. That’s when you get caught in this trap of “I’m gonna do this because someone told me this is the way to success”.

What I’ve learned the hard way, over and over again, is that there is no blueprint. You need to find your own way and you need to do it authentically!

Be the Star of Your Business

Liz helps entrepreneurs rise and be the star of their business. There are some foundations that need to exist to achieve that.

  • You want to walk on hard ground
  • You want to feel fully supported by your own message and that has to do with knowing what your message is.

Once you have that, it makes you feel so much more confident in yourself, your skills, and your business. Understanding that message and getting clarity around that message really does make the difference in being able to show up and serve.

Liz Theresa’s Business Tip

When you think about your branding and your marketing, think about where it came from. Take a look back at your past 30 days or post, look at your website, and make a list of all the things that just don’t feel right. Address them, because they’re things that are probably holding you back.
